WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF THE VEGAN TRAVEL INDUSTRY?

Last week at Europe's largest vegan fare and trade show, my soon to be released self guided vegan micro adventures won the award for best new project which was wonderful as I then got to celebrate with an enormous sticky bun from the big fat vegan bakery.

Obviously thrilled, it got me thinking about what the future holds for the vegan travel industry.

One thing I'm sure about is this; it has the capacity to change the world.

Tourism is one of the worlds fastest growing economies.
According to the World Tourism Organization, in 2012, international tourism generated US$1.3 trillion in export earnings, figures moving and shaking the world economy.

So Emma, how exactly does vegan travel have the capacity to change the world?

Is what someone I met recently on a train, we'll call her Mrs. B asked me, great question Mrs. B

Tourism, unlike any other industry has the potential to empower people, to lift people from poverty, to create employment, to transcend race, religion, age and economical status by knocking down cultural barriers, to inspire people and to connect people across continents.

Vegan travel is already and will continue to:

Promote the availability of a lifestyle in which animals, people and the environment are not exploited, one holiday at a time.

Create employment. Create the desire to travel consciously. Spread compassion. Create the demand. Create the future (which is full of vegan ice cream and will see a veganbnb Travel bed and breakfast in all capital cities)

Initiate growth in the communities in which you travel and help support projects which engage the concepts of compassion and sustainability.

According to the hundreds of people I've met over the past the ten years leading trips in Latin America and Europe, one of the crucial factors regarding making the decision not to go vegan is the fear that living a vegan lifestyle will be limiting in some way shape or form.

2015/16 will see some new, exciting and exclusive projects from Veganbnb Travel, I look forward to collaborateing with people, businesses, NGO’s, governments, governing bodies, educational facilities and the media, In order to deliver my core values, grow and serve.
