PERFECT GIFTS FOR THE VEGAN TRAVELER

Your best friend's birthday is coming up and she's vegan, you know she loves food (who doesn't) and she travels regularly but you're feeling stuck on what to get her as you want it to mean something, to be something that really creates value for her.

By the end of this blog post you'll have five perfect gift ideas for the vegan traveller covering a range of tastes, styles and budgets, there's something for everyone.

Front line
Yes, you're going to buy your friend flea and tick control and this is why she'll love you for it; many animal aid organisations set up in developing countries don't have access to basic preventative treatments for fleas, ticks and worms and rely on compassionate travelers coming through that have packed a few treatments.

When I asked Selaine from AYUDA (for the health of dogs and cats) in Guatemala recently what she really needed, frontline was the answer, even one treatment helps her keep the street dogs as healthy as possible.

Soap / Toiletries
Unless you're lucky enough to be staying a specifically vegan friendly hotel or guest house then it's likely that the free toiletries won't be vegan friendly.

Hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel in travel sized versions will make you the most popular friend ever.

Sachets of nut / soya milk
Dairy free milk is sometimes tricky to find on the move and if you enjoy a nice cup of tea / coffee then travel sized sachets of dairy free coffee creamer are the best thing in the world!

Viva, the best resource for all things dairy free have a great vegan coffee creamer box on their shop site for £7,50 check it out here and never be caught without coffee creamer again.

Restaurant gift card
There are vegan and vege friendly restaurants all over the world (yippee) so if you know where your friend is going on here travels, go to the Happy Cow restaurant finder, contact the restaurant directly and gift them a vegan friendly restaurant card / coffee shop voucher.

Not only is this gift thoughtful, you'll be supporting a vegan business in the process and promoting conscious economies around the world.

Gift an experience
On the basis that most people get more satisfaction from experiences than things - gift your vegan travelling buddy an experience.

Which trip would she prefer, a 5 day vegan Micro Adventure in Spain or a volcano hiking trip in Guatemala?
